Citizens Opportunity to Give Opinion on Budget
The Madison County Board of Commissioners has created a proposed budget for 2018. It represents a $1,500,000 revenue shortfall. There will be no reserve by 2018 to cover this without a tax increase. The Madison County Journal says that the BOC has made it clear there will be no tax rate rollback to offset the increases in the recent tax assessments that were the topic of several articles and letters earlier in June.Citizens may give their opinion on the budget on July 10 at 6:00 p.m.
