Information for candidates for local office

Candidates will qualify at the Madison County Board of Elections and Registration Office in the government complex. Qualifying for Madison County offices will begin at 9 a.m., Monday, March 7, and end at noon Friday, March 11. All qualifying will be conducted at the Board of Elections and Registration Office and candidates do not need an appointment with the Madison County Republican Party chairman.

Qualifying fees are as follows: sheriff, $1,779.86; clerk of court, $1,491.65; tax commissioner; $1,491.65, probate judge, $1,491.65; chairman, BOC, $1,779.86; coroner, $294; county surveyor, $10; board of education, $80.22; district commissioner, $216.
