Jim Jess to Speak at January Meeting

unty Republican Party will have the first meeting of 2017 on Thursday, January 19. The meeting is at the Madison County Senior Center in Danielsville. The event opens with a meet and greet at 6:30 PM and the meeting begins at 7:00 PM. The guest speaker is Jim Jess. Jim is currently an Assistant Editor for GEORGIA Magazine, the largest monthly circulation magazine in the state. For 6 years he wrote a column on the Constitution called “Liberty Notes.” He will speak on the Electoral College and the National Popular Vote Interstate Compact. This is a very timely topic, as a number of states have already signed the compact, representing 61% of the 270 electoral votes required for this to take effect. The Georgia House and Senate committees have proposed legislation to elect the President by national popular vote. This is a public meeting and all are invited to attend.
