Madison County Republican Party will hold its Precinct Caucus and County Convention on SATURDAY, March 21st to elect Delegates and Alternates to the District and State Conventions.
Registration: 8:00 am
Precinct Caucus Meeting: 9:00 am
County Convention Meeting: 10:00 am
Both the Precinct Caucus and County Convention will be held at the Madison County Senior Center, 1265 Highway 98 West in Danielsville, Georgia. Registration for the Precinct Caucuses will begin at 8:00 AM. The Madison County Senior Center has been closed due to Coronavirus concerns. However, we will set up an area in the parking lot to hold our meeting.
Although we will be holding our County Convention, in order to help prevent the spread of the coronavirus, we would prefer that you NOT attend. If you wish to be elected as a Delegate or an Alternate to the State or District Convention, you can send an email to madisoncountygagop@gmail.com without having to attend the Precinct Caucus or County Convention. In order to allow us enough time to compile and verify the information, please submit your information by Thursday, March 19th. I will then contact you for the additional information we will need.
County Chairmen have to been asked to conduct a pro forma convention with one or two other healthy persons from our Executive Committee or officer team. We will call ourselves to order, approve a delegate slate and then adjourn. No speeches. No other business. This pro forma convention will preserve our ability to participate in the National Convention when the spread of coronavirus is halted.
AGAIN, WE URGE:
1. If you are coughing, sneezing or feeling ill, do not attend the County Convention.
2. If you or a household member has recently visited China or any of the other places covered by the President’s travel ban, do not attend the County Convention.
3. If your immune system is compromised or you are in an at risk demographic group, do not attend the County Convention.
4. If you wish to be elected as a Delegate or Alternate to the District or State Convention, you can send an email to madisoncountygagop@gmail.com
without having to attend the Precinct Caucus or County Convention. Please submit your name by Thursday, March 19th, and I will contact you for the additional information we will need.
If you do decide to attend the County Convention, thoroughly wash your hands, carry hand sanitizing fluid and avoid handshaking and hugging.
