Meet Board of Education Candidates

Meet Board of Education Candidates

On Thursday, June 16 at 7 pm, the Madison County Republicans will met at the Madison County Senior Center at 1265 Hwy 98 W. Danielsville, GA 30633. We will hear for the District 2 Board of Education Candidates in the run off on June 21,  Angie McGinnis and Dan Lampe. Doors will open at 6:30 pm.

Angie Mcginnis: Let me introduce myself I am your District 2 Board of Education representative for Madison County. I have lived in Madison county all my life and graduated from our school system. Presently, I am employed by Piedmont Athens Regional in the pediatric practice for Dr. Henry Garrard and Dr. Holly Aldridge. Over the last eight years, I have had the privilege of working for you on the school board and would love the chance to continue representing you at the board of education table. My brother and I own a beef farm over on Macedonia Church Road and have local 4-H and FFA kids exhibiting cattle and taking them all over the state to show their livestock projects. Since being involved in numerous organizations in the county like the Comer Lions Club, Madison County Fair Association and the Madison County Pilot club and the FFA Alumni it gives me a great opportunity to meet people. My family and I attend Friendship Baptist Church where I am currently serving as a Sunday School teacher,   Awana Teacher and work in children’s church. Many years ago I used to work part time as a substitute school teacher so I have had previous experience working in the school system so I am very familiar with the protocols and staff. We have a great school system with a graduation rate of 95.6% which has drastically increased over the years. If I am elected again, I will continue to represent you and your family at the board of education table but will look for ways to make things better for students and staff. There are always room for improvement and we must continue to work together and try to make sure our students are protected and valued while in our care. We need to make sure our staff know how much we appreciate them and stand behind them. Currently ,we have a great school board and we look forward to hearing from you. Never hesitate to reach out to me or your district representative because if we don’t know your issues there is no way to fix it.

Dan Lampe: My name is Dan Lampe, but for the last 30 years I have just been called “Coach Lampe”. I have coached the Madison County Lady Raider Basketball team for the last 20 years along with teaching science at the High School. I will be married 30 years in August to Elizabeth Lampe. We have 3 children, Tori, Jake and Allie. All 3 went through Danielsville elementary, the middle school and then the high school. 2 of our kids are married now, and I have 1 granddaughter.. I attend Riverside Baptist Church and serve as a deacon. I have just recently retired  (May 31st) from teaching and I really didn’t want to run for the BOE because it’s against my nature to want to sit in meetings, however I felt it was needed to have a different perspective on the board.
