Republican Rally with Whistle Stop Speeches

We are hosting a Republican Rally with Whistle Stop Speeches on April 7 at the Colbert Depot. Candidates for statewide offices have been invited to come and deliver their whistle stop speeches from the caboose at the depot between 4:00 pm and 6:00 pm. The Depot is located at 23 S. 4th Street, Colbert, GA 30628. This is an opportunity for voters from around the Northeast Georgia area to meet candidates for Governor, Secretary of State, State School Superintendent, State Insurance Commissioner, and other offices.

The Gold Sponsors for the Rally are State Senator Frank Gunn, R 47th district, Rep. Tom McCall, R – Elberton, District 33. Representative and Scott Howard – Republican primary candidate for State Senator 47th District.

The rally is co-sponsored by Conservative Republican Women of Northeast Georgia, The University of Georgia College Republicans, Oglethorpe County Republicans, Elbert County Republicans, Franklin County Republicans, Athens Clarke County Republicans, Jackson County Republicans, Oconee County Republicans, Hart County Republicans, and the Republican Women of Hall.

The most recent list of candidates confirmed include Brad Raffensperger for Secretary of State, Michael Williams for Governor, Richard Woods for State School Superintendent, Jay Florence for State Insurance Commissioner, Marc Urbach for Governor, Hunter Hill for Governor, Tracy Jordan for State Insurance Commissioner, Jim Beck for State Insurance Commissioner, David Belle Isle for Secretary of State, Rick Knox for Lt. Governor, Buzz Brockway for Secretary of State, Josh McKoon for Secretary of State, and David Shafer for Lt. Governor.

Tim Bryant of Fox News Radio, WGAU Athens 98.7 FM, will emcee this rally, and it will be carried by the radio station.Bring your family and friends to a rally that will have so many statewide candidates in one place so they can be informed before they vote. We’ll have a good time gathering with other Republicans, enjoying some refreshments catered by Ila Restaurant along with homemade cakes and pies to share, and of course, a raffle for two corn hole boards with big, red, Republican elephants gracing them. The event will commence with Rebecca Yardley’s daughter, Ansleigh, singing the National Anthem. Wear your red, white, and blue and come to the depot on April 7th.
